# 7 The Gentlemen's vintage show
I got the privilege of attending the only all mens vintage trade show in NYC.For most people the word vintage usually brings to mind out dated, smelly clothing worn by someone who recently died. Wrong, for starters that’s what thrift clothing general means. NYC first men’s only vintage clothing show and sale held at the Prince George Ballroom November 4th and 5th broke all standard of not only for the word vintage but also for menswear as a whole.
The assortment looked anything from out dated or smelly, but instead more modern, hipped and fashionable. Python skin bomber jackets along with leather jackets that would have excited lady gaga were present at almost every booth. Blazers in every fabrication, pattern and color ranging from Saks private label to Hermes were also present. The ties were the most interesting and exciting part of the whole show. Vintage Christian Dior, Valentino, Emporio Armani, and Gianni Versace bowties were $25 each.

Funky was the theme of the back row booths presenting old English and Russian uniforms, western suede fringe jackets and classic American and English Hats. Lots of color patch work Versace loafers along with yellow faux fur, suede and leather vest.
Over the top dapper men’s furs and shearling coats would be described as bananas if Rachael Zoe was present. Knee length Tom Ford For Gucci black fox fur coat was the item of show being the only item close to the price of a down payment of a Tribeca 3 bedroom apartment. Original Artwork was also on display for sale along with two cabin inspired couches made of animal bones and fur. After all is said and done NYC first men’s only vintage show was well organized and a humungous success, hope this will continue for the future of vintage shopping and menswear.
